The first railroad for the famous “Locomotive No.1”, designed by British engineer George Stephenson, had its grand opening on September 27th 1825. The width of the Track was 1435 mm, which became industry standard for most railway systems in the world. Stephenson was one of the first pioneers to set a worldwide industry standard, thereby revolutionizing not only public and freight transportation but also became a pioneer in industrial standardization.
